Great Yarmouth is host to a thriving Town Centre with a great selection of retailers both local and national.  Our town prides itself on being one of the finest towns for shopping and leisure on the East Coast.

The recently refurbished pedestrianised Market Place provides the central hub of town centre shops complete with a large and dynamic market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, extended to Fridays during the summer. A focal point for many, and with free entertainment provided at peak times, the Market Square is bordered by the six-day covered market to the North and enclosed by many of the towns larger stores, including Palmers Department Store, Burtons and Boots and also the entrance to the town's main shopping centre, Market Gates. The shopping centre is currently going through a major extension that will further boost the towns retail offer. Debenhams, Starbucks and a larger format New Look have already committed to the centre when the work is completed in the Autumn.

Whilst the heart of the town is the Market Place, the town's retail offering does not end here.  King Street, The Rows, Regent Road, Regent Street, Victoria Arcade and the Quay bring diversity to the retail scene and offer a wealth on unique shopping opportunities.

Continuous Improvement
Great Yarmouth was the first town in Norfolk to embrace the concept of Town Centre Management.  This reflects our commitment to the continued vitality of the Town Centre, and to maintaining our competitive retail offering.  We are constantly striving to build on our strengths and to fulfil our objectives.

Traditional Heart
The Town has a rich heritage and we actively try to incorporate this into the retail experience and to promote our traditional values.

Social Centre
Great Yarmouth Town Centre is the hub of commercial and social life for the Borough's 92,000 residents and is an essential factor in ensuring that our 3 million annual visitors leave with positive memories of the town.
