Christmas lantern parade workshop

Saturday 26th November 2011
Venue: Great Yarmouth Library

Join in the Great Yarmouth Christmas Lantern Parade on 7th December (Late Night Christmas Shopping). Make a lantern at either of the remaining free workshops – Saturday 26th November at Great Yarmouth Community Library (10:15am-3pm) or Sunday 4th December at The Great Yarmouth Christmas Fayre, St. Nicholas Church (10:15am-3pm). All materials will be provided and no need to book. You will need about 1-2 hours to make the lantern and you take the lantern home with you.

Prior to the lantern parade on 7th December, there will be family activities at Great Yarmouth Community Library from 5-6pm. Greenacre School Choir will start the event by leading with some Christmas Carols. There will be Christmas themed arts and crafts inside the library as well as free refreshments.

The parade will start at 6:30pm from the area outside Christchurch and head down King Street into the Town Centre before heading to St. Nicholas Church where participants will gain free entry to the Christmas Tree and Crib Festival where free refreshments will be available.

As well as the lanterns, we’re expecting Father Christmas, reindeer, a marching band and stilt walkers to be in the parade. This year should be the biggest and best parade so far!
