Friday 1st December 2017 - Sunday 3rd December 2017
Venue: St Georges Theatre

The third annual Great Yarmouth Winter Beer and Cider Festival opens at 11am Friday 1st December, in St Georges Theatre, King Street. The weekend long festival will feature over 40 real ales and ciders supplied by a range of local and not so local brewers. The opportunity to enjoy seasonal winter ales will be a feature of the festival which will also include live music during most of the sessions.

The festival will be open for both lunchtime sessions (11.00am to 3.00pm) and evening sessions (5pm to 11.00pm) on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd December, finishing with an afternoon session (11.00am to 4.00pm) on Sunday 3rd December.  Entry on the door for all sessions with entry prices unchanged from last year at £3.00 for the lunchtime and £5.00 for the evening sessions whilst the Sunday afternoon session will be just £2.

As well as providing a selection of ales from Norfolk and Suffolk’s growing number of brewers including including Adnams, Panther, Tindall, St. Peters and Winters and Great Yarmouth’s Lacons and Tombstone breweries, the festival presents a great opportunity to enjoy beers from further afield with breweries from Derby, Bristol, London, Sussex and Sheffield supplying this year’s festival. Seasonal specials including the Adnams red winter ale ‘Sloe Storm’ and the ‘Merry Elf’ ale from St Peters will be available alongside regular favourites such as Adnams ‘Old Ale’ and Lacons ‘Encore’. Those favouring cider will also have a great choice with over fifteen different variants including blackberry, strawberry & Lime, rhubarb, cranberry and mango as well as the more traditional and vintage ciders including the popular ‘Thundering Molly’ from Celtic Marches and Seacider’s ‘Bakewell Tart’.  In addition to a having a great choice of ales and cider available, the Winter Beer and Cider Festival will also be making good use of the stage and sound facilities that St Georges Theatre offers with some great bands and musicians booked to appear over the weekend. On Friday night the four piece rhythm and blues band ‘The Uncalled Four’, will be supported by solo singer songwriters Kolin Durier and Chris Pidgeon. On Saturday local musician Christy Bullen will entertain during the lunchtime session whilst popular Norfolk group ‘The Uninvited’ will take to the stage on the Saturday evening playing their wide range of covers from the 70's to the present including Bon Jovi, Fleetwood Mac, Pink, Foo Fighters and Reo Speedwagon to name just a few.

The Theatre Pavilion Cafe will be open throughout the festival providing a specially selected range of food and snacks to keep festival goers fed plus a range of alternative alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for those not wholly devoted to ale and cider!
