St. Nicholas Church

In what is believed to be the largest parish church in England there will be a collection of unique hand-made and specialist craft and food stalls including candles, pottery, glassware, woodturning, toys, jewellery, soaps, vases, digital art, knitwear, paintings, suncatchers, bags, cakes, pastries, cup cakes, breads, real ales, preserves, pickles, olives, sweets, nuts and much more.

School choirs, bell ringers and local performers will provide a full schedule of festive entertainment in the church all weekend.

The church will also host hair, beauty and floristry demonstrations by Great Yarmouth college on Friday and Saturday and a lantern making workshop in the Sunday.

Market Place

The Great Yarmouth Market will be in full swing during the Christmas Fayre providing some of the best opportunities to buy local produce from local suppliers with market gardeners, fishmongers, butchers and of course great chip stalls.  As well as the place to shop for great value products the Market place will also be the location for a number of fun fair rides during the Christmas Fayre weekend.

In the Priory Centre

The Priory Centre will be home to the visiting Norwegian craft traders this year as they return after a gap in their 12-year support of the Christmas Fayre last year. The Norwegian craftsmen and women will be providing a unique opportunity to purchase from a selection of their wares including, handmade pewter, wooden games and puzzles, Norwegian designed knitwear and headgear, cookies, cheeses and cooking Norwegian waffles everyday. They will also be bringing with them a selection of films and slides of their homeland’s culture and landscape that will be shown on a big screen in the Priory’s Noble Hall.

Raising money for local causes the Santa’s Grotto in the Priory Centre will be ideal place to take the smaller children for their annual ‘good or bad’ chat with Father Christmas. Plus the Priory Café will be open all weekend to provide a warm and friendly venue for refreshments.

Christmas Fayre Norwegian Carol Concert

In addition to the Norwegian craft traders the Christmas Fayre will be hosting a special Norwegian Christmas Carol Concert by the Lardal Kantori. Travelling from their home in South-East Norway to perform exclusively in Great Yarmouth’s St. Nicholas Church, this talented mixed choir will provide a unique opportunity to enjoy a concert of Norwegian and English carols in the wonderful setting of this magnificent church. Tickets £7 each available at www.gytcp.co.uk or by sending a cheque to Great Yarmouth Town Centre Partnership, Unit 5, Wilkinsons Yard, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR30 2AX.
