Where can I shop?

The pedestrian friendly Market Place provides the central hub of Great Yarmouth town centre with its open Market Square piazza area providing shoppers somewhere to rest their legs and enjoy the atmosphere and the free entertainment that often takes place there. On Market days, Wednesday and Saturday, you will find some of the best opportunities to bag a bargain from a wide variety of stalls. The bustling covered market adjacent the Market Square is open six days a week and is home to variety of stalls selling fresh food, produce and every day essentials. Around the Market Place many of the town’s larger stores, banks and building societies can be found as well as the main entrance to the town’s largest shopping centre, Market Gates, which leads directly from the Market Square.

boasts some 48 retail stores with a mix of major high street brands and independent traders. The shopping centre has a varied calendar of promotions, events and entertainment during the year with retailer promotions throughout creating a lively and varied shopping experience.  Market Gates is a family friendly and secure place to shop and well worth a visit.

From the market place visitors can navigate themselves to some of the towns other shopping locations including Market and Broad Row, a narrow, quaint and historic shopping area that provides a delightful pedestrian route to the quayside. Running south of the Market Place is King Street which has been one of Yarmouth’s most important shopping areas for centuries with many of the town’s independent retailers and service businesses resident there where you will find a myriad of unique independent shopping including music, crafts, jewellery, shoes, fashions, toys, computers, furniture and groceries. The covered Victoria Arcade leads off King Street with its ‘Olde Worlde’ charm to Regent Street that can take you west to the Historic South Quay area or east towards the Regent Road pedestrian link, with its wide selection of gift and seasonal shops, to Great Yarmouth Seafront.
